DRAGONFLY VOLUNTEER 2011 The volunteers are an essential part of Dragonfly Festival in fact we prefer to call them family….each year this family grows and each year we welcome back old friends, but we are always looking for more help. APPLICATION If you fancy joining in and being part of what is probably the best, loveliest festival in the world then please send an email including your age, any experience and your contact details to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it We like: Friendly, hardworking, honest people - the festival happens as a result of a lot of love and work from a lot of people - please do not apply if you're going to waste our time! You are asked to specify which days you can work for us - You can apply for any of the following day groups: 1. Monday 15th – Thursday 18th will be setup – NOTE: These are heavy work days of including tasks like placing out fencing, setting up tents, site decoration and other such tasks - but are also alot of fun and very rewarding, plus you then get to enjoy all of the festival - Setup days are a maximum of 8 hours work - food and refreshment is provided. 2. Friday 19th Saturday 20th, and Sunday 21st are the days when the site is open to the public – 3 days of full festival program! Areas needed to be staffed are security, festival entrance (tickets and info), headquarters (reception, artist assistance, HQ cleaning), the bars (standard bar work), the art hut, site maintenance (recycling, security and cleaning), stage assistance and general help - During the festival the deal is: 4 hours (minimum) work = 1 x free day pass - NOTE: Scheduling priority is given to those who offer services for all 3 days! 3. Monday 22nd - Tuesday 23rd - ALL DAY PACK DOWN! - will be more physical work of site deconstruction, bin collection, recycling commitment and tidying.- NOTE: This year we have to have the entire village packed down and tidy by Tuesday morning - because there will be 6 schools expecting to travel through the prehistoric ages of Ekehagens Forntidsby. So as much they may like the idea of a cinema in the stone age....we have to leave the place looking like it did all those years ago, which means LOTS TO DO - any help offered will be much appreciated :) NOTE: The above hours are stated as a minimum - every volunteer who signs on is expected to understand that they may be called upon last minute to help out in case of emergency. PLUS: A few of our previous volunteers have mentioned that they would like to get more involved in the running of things. If you feel that you could take on some more responsibility (e.g. area management, scheduling assistance) and hours then please do let us know. Once we have received your application, we will contact you with further details and ask you to confirm that you will be attending on the dates you have specified. Please let us know as soon as possible if your plans change so that we can contact someone else – its not fun hearing from people on opening day! If you need to contact us regarding your volunteer application or with further questions about volunteering please email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU! Dragonfly Festival 2011xx p.s - Video applications are welcome.....last year we received a link to a video (see below) and it scared us a little, but with reconsideration the filmmaker was invited to join us anyway and turned out to be one of the nicest chaps we've met. Joe - we salute you!
